Peach colored bearded iris

peach colored bearded iris
A peach colored bearded iris, shown close up. Irises do very well in the mid Atlantic region, especially in sunny locations. Bearded irises don’t thrive and often don’t bloom in shade but are tolerant of it and keep coming back. It seems impossible to kill them without really trying and they will bloom freely after a year in the sun. I love this peach color, but the blossom stems tend to grow overly long and tip over as the blossom creeps up the stem.
Shot with a Nikon Coolpix 4300.
