Antelope Canyon from the upper slot

antelope canyon from the upper slot
Antelope canyon is a slot canyon formed by flood waters which pool in a basin above it and then drain at high speed through sandstone formations. It is one of the most visited and photographed sites in the southwest. Antelope Canyon is located near Page, Arizona, a town created during the construction of the Lake Powell dam. The canyon is on Navajo tribal lands and can only be visited when accompanied by approved tour guides.
Here the canyon is seen from the basin above the slot where water enters the canyon as the valley drains through it.
