Al-Jazeera sign in the US Capitol
Al-Jazeera sign in the US Capitol. When we were visiting, it was just before the4 2008 state of the union address and Al-Jazeera was one of the accredited foreign press agencies reporting on the event. Most of the press had stations in this room, the old house chamber on the south side of the Capitol. I thought it was interesting, given how much the administration demonized Al-Jazeera at the time. The sign is behind a statue of Sam Houston.
