Civil War themed Bas Relief on the US Capitol Grounds. This bas relief is integral to the statue down by the reflecting pond on the west side of the Capitol. The statue is US Grant on horseback mounted on the pedestal into which this bronze plate is installed. The plate shows a portion of a column of Union soldiers on the march with rifles slung.
