17 year cicada

A 17 year cicada on a tomato vine. Periodic cicadas typically dwell underground for 17 years and emerge in mass. However, some small number emerge after 13 years instead, creating small subgroups from a main mass population which emerge annually according to their own cycles. This is an odd cycle cicada.
