Pompeys Pillar

Pompeys Pillar

Pompeys pillar is a natural rock formation in Montan near Billings. The sandstone hill was noted in the journals of the Lewis and Clark Exploring party, and Clark left his signature etched into the rock. The journals noted the party climed to the top and saw vast herds of wild animals.
