Hot water streams away from the geo thermals

Streams of hot water flowing away from geysers, hot springs and steam vents is a repeated feature of Yellowstone. Here one of the lodge pole pines felled because of the 1988 fires lies across a stream and is whitened by the sulphurous deposits in the steam. The smell was all pervading.
Shot with a Nikon D80 and a Micro Nikkor 55mm AIS lens.
