Brilliant red amaryllis

A brilliant red amaryllis. We visited the National Botanical Garden on the mall in Washington DC in January, 2010. They were having a show of flowering amaryllises. That seemed appropriate since so many people force amaryllis bulbs in order to have winter flowers for the table. I had never seen such a variety.
