Pale Green Amaryllis with red stripes

A pale green amaryllis with red stripes. We visited the National Botanical Garden on the mall in Washington DC in January, 2010. They were having a show of flowering amaryllises. That seemed appropriate since so many people force amaryllis bulbs in order to have winter flowers for the table. I had never seen such a variety. This photo shows a single blossom of one plant in the foreground with some of the other flowers from this stem visible within the picture but not featured. This amaryllis photo was one of my very favorite of the day.
