A very thin petalled amaryllis. We visited the National Botanical Garden on the mall in Washington DC in January, 2010. They were having a show of flowering amaryllises. That seemed appropriate since so many people force amaryllis bulbs in order to have winter flowers for the table. I had never seen such a variety. This amaryllis had the thinnest petals of all I saw that day. Like several other thin petalled varieties, the coloration was pale green with red stripes.
