A Rosy Dawn variety paphiopedilum orchid, mostly white with yellow and brown. Paphiopedilum orchids have a sort of cup integral to their throat structure. The exterior of the cup is glossy. They also have a dramatic large upper petal, in this rosy dawn example, the large petal has a sort of gradient from white at the top to a brilliant sunny yellow at the bottom with brown spot emanating from the center of the flower. A very interesting orchid, indeed. Seen in the US Botanical Garden in Washington DC.
