One of two Przewalski horses at the National Zoo in Washington DC, this one a stallion. Przewalski horses (Equus ferus przewalskii) are the last truly wild horses, they were never successfully domesticated. They became extinct in the wild in 1966 but have been reintroduced to the wild through conservation programs in Mongolia and China.
