The nose and cockpit area of a B-52 seen with a cruise missile in the foreground and the tail of an SR-71 in the background. This aircraft is on display at the US Air Force Armaments Museum in Shalimar, Florida.
The B-52 was first delivered in 1954 and current plans are to have these aircraft in service beyond 2040. They serve as the heavy lifting capacity for the nuclear strategic bombing capability of the US Air Force and also as a platform for cruise missile launches.
