Bombyliidae or Syrphidae On a Daisy Heart Macrophotography.

Bombyliidae or Syrphidae pollinating fly on the heart of a daisy. This was the most close up I could get with this macrophotography lens and still not disturb the fly. the fly stands near the center, where the immatrue anthers are packed in what look like hexagonal tiles. The mature anthers are open and the fly eats nectar with its proboscis. Outside a ring of fetrilized seeds are maturing.
Shot with a Nikon D80 and a 55mm AIS Micro Nikkor lens.
