Blue Jay Skull with Orbit

A blue jay skull with the ocular orbit still in place. I found a dead blue jay in my back yard. Its skin quickly decomposed and its skeleton emerged. Skulls have always held some sort of interest for me so I retained the blue jay skull for quite a while. I have additional pictures at various stages of its decomposition.
Shot with a Nikon D80 and a 55mm AIS macro lens.
